Ongoing legal controversy between ex-coach Rodriguez and WVU re his $4 million buyout is detailed at a WVU lawschool blog I just discovered thanks to The WV Journal.

Rod is attempting to avoid the buyout based on alleged verbal conversations with WVU President Mike Garrison.

Good grief! Even I know that it's what is on paper and signed that is binding, not what the used car salesman tells you in the lot.

There is an famous old saying that applies here:
"A man's word is as good as his bond"

the inference being that if a man won't keep his word,
his signature is not worth much

A lot of us old-fashioned red-necks like to operate that way
we also value loyalty
